The Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry is committed to highlighting and promoting the use and implementation of sustainability practices in businesses of all sizes throughout Pennsylvania.
While there are many different definitions of sustainability, the PA Chamber views sustainability as practices that businesses adopt to reduce electricity and water consumption; conserve natural resources; prevent and control pollution; and minimize, and when possible, recycle waste.
Sustainability practices are good for the environment and for economic growth because they help reduce business expenses, freeing up more revenue for job creation and investment.
The PA Chamber's Green Initiative serves as a forum for PA Chamber member businesses to share ideas and best practices with their peers regarding sustainability and "going green;" and to highlight business' voluntary efforts to help the environment.
PA Chamber members are encouraged to share their sustainability success stories. Contact PA Chamber Government Affairs Director Shawn Good at sgood@pachamber.org.
